Berlin Heart- Day 5

I almost decided not to write tonight and just leave you with the following picture. But I figured I should atleast give a bit of an update.

Today for the first time since her surgery we saw a real smile! It makes me so happy! I do have to admit though, this smile came after an exhausting bath and a dose of morphin! I think Ry is smiling a happy smile because of the drugs, but I'll take it!

Ry was such a champ today. She had a busy day filled with PT, new IV placed, dressing change, IJ line removed from her neck, OT, an echo, a sonogram, a little play therapy and a bath. Any one of those items were enough to put her out, but she made it through them all. I was so proud that she sat on a bench supporting herself for nearly 15 minutes and even stood with lots of help. Her poor wobbly legs were just like jello, but she even moved her feet in an effort to take a couple steps. Yay Ry!

Tomorrow we do it all over again. I hope she begins to get comfortable with each of her caretakers. I think tomorrow I am actually going to count the number of different people that walk into the room throughout the day.

I'm too tired to write anything else for the evening. I am hoping Ry sleeps well in her bed tonight. Last night I had to lay with her all night. I was actually happy when I heard her call my name at midnight. It had been too long since I heard her little high-pitch "Mommy?"

Good night. Sleep tight. Prayers for good day tomorrow.

So glad she got a smile out today and accomplished all those things! Way to go Rylynn. She has my vote if she ever wants to be President, I am basing my future vote solely based on her toughness as a 2 year old. :) Hope tomorrow proves just as good as today!

So many prayers for that sweet girl even from semi strangers like me (I'm Jeremy Coleman's cousin). Your daughter has such great strength - I know she gets it from her parents!

What a beautiful, brave little girl with such a wonderful strong mommy there for her. God is surely with you because you are doing such a great job and staying so positive.
We love you all so much and wish there was something else we could do besides praying and you have to know you are always in our thoughts and in our prayers.

Rochelle Baptist Church is still praying for her and you all.....I printed your blog with pictures of Rylynn and made copies to hand out at church. I thought that those who
didn't have access would like to see and hear how she was doing via your blog. I look every morning to see how the previous day was for her. Take care of yourself you have to be strong for her.

Rylynn's smile made my day today and I'm sure it made yours yesterday! She is such a tough little girl that has many people praying for her. I know that God will do his wonders and get her the heart she needs. Hang in there Andrea and know that we are constantly thinking and praying for you and your family!

Psalm 18: 1-3, 28, 35
I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
Yay for the great day! Go Ry go!!

Go Rylynn!!!! I'm so proud to know such an amazing little lady! I know you, as her mommy, have to be proud you have such a sassy little thing on your hands with so much spunk! Her progress and stamina amaze me and its truly a lesson we could all learn about triumph and the will to get on with life no matter the circumstances. Enjoy the sweet sounds of "MOMMY!" and hope you get some rest soon.
