Rodeo fun

This last weekend we headed to the Austin Rodeo with Gilly's family. We had a great time, but had a hard time keeping warm. It was 38 degrees and the wind was blowing 40 mph! We were still able to enjoy the petting zoo and of course enjoy the rodeo. Rylynn's favorite was Elsie the Borden milk cow! And of course in true Rylynn fashion, she danced the night away as we watched the rodeo and later heard a little of Wade Bowen. She did crash for about 30 minutes, but was ready to go after catching a little cat nap.

We waited in the car for a bit before heading out into the cold.
Ry needed her snack before we hit the fairgrounds.
Doesn't she look snazzy in her pearl-snaps!

Ry loved petting Elsie...

... and the crazy little goats.

But she wasn't too sure about this moo-cow!

Time for a quick nap so I can do some more dancing!

Now it's time to get ready for the Easter Bunny! I can't believe Easter will be here in less than two weeks! I love this time of year!

What a busy weekend

This weekend, Rylynn spent about 48 hours with my sisters and mom and dad. Gilly and I were terribly sad to spend two nights away from her and missed her so much! But this enabled us to work ALL weekend on the house. It's amazing how much you can get done without the munchkin around. I had forgotten what it was once like.
I worked inside doing a little final trim work (with my new saw) and tons of priming and painting. Gilly worked outside beginning to clear some old fencing, trees, bricks and other things on the lot. The weather was beautiful and we were able to really make a dent in our to-do list. We both felt it Sunday morning as we woke up though... guess we're getting old!
We appreciated all the help and look forward to finishing up some of our projects. Although at this time I feel like the painting will never be done! Rylynn received a good report for the weekend except that she didn't want to sleep for Aunt Jess. Sounds like she just wanted to party!
A few things to report on Rylynn:
* She is pulling up on everything and loves to climb up or over things.
* She talks, and talks, and talks about who knows what! It doesn't even matter if anyone is paying attention to her, she still carries on.
* Friday morning she didn't cry when I dropped her off at the sitters! Finally no guilt trips on mom anymore!
* She LOVES refried beans. It is hilarious to watch her smear them all over her face, but she just can't get enough of them!

We are loving this spring weather and enjoy having Ry outside, it's going to be a fun summer!

With love . . .

TEN months old!

I can't believe that Baby Rylynn (as many of you have come to know her) is now 10 months old. She isn't a baby anymore! Our big girl has been into so many things this last month. She has started going to a sitter three days a week so that I have some quiet time at my desk. She has a few girlfriends there that she plays with. Although it took her a few times to adjust, I have been getting good reports from Suzanne!

Here she is, headed to her first day of school!

I know we've missed quite a bit since I last blogged. Here's my attempt at a cute pic on Valentine's Day...

She doesn't like to sit still for even two seconds!

Rylynn has been crawling great for the last few weeks. She's getting faster everyday! Her other favorite activity is to dance!! She has changed her style of dance from rockin' back and forth, to a sideways rock, to her latest full on boogie move! She really gets into it now! Each evening after Rylynn has had her bath and I take time for a quick shower, Gilly and her dance to the crazy songs he has on iTunes. One of her favorites is Notorious B-I-G Hypnotize!! But as you can see, the alphabet song will do it too!! Rylynn's Nana gave her this little snail and she will actually start dancing when she just sees the thing!

She is quite the handful, but we love every minute of her! We have spent time lately reflecting on the journey we've been on with her, what a miracle she is!! I haven't said it lately, but I know it everyday in my heart, we are so lucky to have so many wonderful people praying for her!

With love...
