Hanging out here in Dallas

So after my whining yesterday, we landed ourselves at the local ER to check out the PICC. It was flushed by our home health care nurse who says it was leaking (which means her VERY important 24 a day medication was not making its way to where it needed to be going). It was then flushed by the ER nurse who says it was not leaking. Either way, we just can not take chances so we were once again transported to Dallas. I still have major issues with this transport vs. drive ourselves, but it's never my decision to make. Luckily, this time we went by ambulance rather than plane.
We had a heck of a driver though, check this out!
First, before we ever even left Waco he locked himself out of the ambulance! I had to "hit the button" to let him in.
Secondly, he was definitely texting and driving as we were cruising down I-35!
Lastly, here's a piece of our conversation as we drove.
Me: Do you have to drive to Children's Medical Center often?
Driver: Yes, we transport to Dallas all the time. I've probably been to Dallas 400 time in the past 3 years.
15 minutes later...
Driver: Do you know the name of the exit I take?

Awesome!

Ry once again amazed me along the trip. I rode in the front and she snoozed in the back and watched her movie.
So we were admitted last night. They ran the meds through her PICC throughout the night, but placed an IV this morning and now are administering the milrinone through it. Her PICC was removed this morning and a new one will be place tomorrow. We're scheduled to head down to radiology tomorrow at 2:00. She will be under anesthesia for the procedure and we will stay one more night here. I am hopeful that we'll be released on Saturday morning. Other than the stupid PICC, Ry's doing very well. Her sats are looking good, but we still expect to go home on oxygen. The transplant team thinks we can wean her at our appointment in two weeks.
Think that's a wrap for now. I'll keep you all posted if there are any new developments.
With love . . .

Your "whining" is justified!! Whine away! Yes, report that ambulance driving tool!!

and I'm SOOO glad she's doing okay other than the pesky PICC line!
