Our Snow Days!

Rylynn and I have been staying in all week. It's been downright miserable here just as it has over much of Texas. We were stocked with extra wood for the fireplace and all our neccessities. We did experiences some of the rolling black-outs, but were otherwise lucky not to lose power or water here.

Yesterday morning we woke to a beautiful snow cover. I don't remember ever seeing such white snow here in Texas. It was enough to cover all the grass and it was cold enough that it didn't melt! Usually when we do have snow, it's a dirty snow, and you have to rush out to take pictures of it before the sun comes up because it will be gone just as fast as it fell. But this snow was so different. It made we wish I had been a kid again. My sisters and I would have had some real fun with it.

Rylynn and I had our fun too though. She L-O-V-E, loved it! She called it dirt and insisted on sitting in it with her shovel and bucket and playing with it as if it were sand at the beach! I could not get her to taste it, but she did like throwing the snow balls that I made. She was also upset that the "dirt" was in her swing!! She would have stayed out there all morning if I would have let her, but we're not properly outfitted with warm waterproof clothing so I had to get her back in to stay warm. But she looked out the windows all day at the "dirt" covering everything.

Here are a few pictures from our fun!

I hope you all survived the storm of 2011 and can now get out this weekend and enjoy a little sunshine!
With love . . .
