So much to report!

I've been trying to find some time to get to the blog the last couple of weeks, but someone keeps me very busy around here. I first want to report that last week Rylynn had an appointment with the cardiologist. She had an echo, EKG, and a few other tests and they all came back wonderfully. Dr. Rowe was thrilled with her heart function and her growth. We were able to stop her lasix and so now we're only down to TWO meds, I can't believe it! Her oxygen levels were holding steady at 87, which is great! Gilly and I are thrilled, the power of prayer is amazing. Her great condition is nothing like what we were told to expect with a single ventricle baby. She has exceeded all that the doctors prepared us for. We are so proud of her!

Now to let you know what the stinker has been up to. She is a scootin' fool! Of course, she is still scooting backwards, once she kicks it into drive we're in trouble! Even though she travels everyone in reverse, she has no problems getting where she needs to go in a hurry. And she carries things in her mouth while she scoots.

The other night, Gilly and I put up her swing that Granny and Papa gave her for Christmas and it's a hit! She loves it and we've been lucky enough that the weather has been nice this week for her to enjoy it.

Just before Christmas, Ry took her first trip down to Corpus. She attended my office Christmas party with Gilly and me. My co-workers were excited to meet her and we got to spend the next day out snapping a few pics. Unfortunately, it was quite cold and windy, but we'll be sure to head back this summer when we can take Rylynn down to the water.

I love this picture!

And speaking of work, now that Rylynn is quite mobile, she cruises around my office and the hallway outside my office for hours each day. I can contain her with kiddie gates and just let her scoot. The other day I was busy working on some color boards for a project and Rylynn was my helper. She loved me being on the floor with her and she loved looking at all the different colored things I had. She's quite the little helper!

I once again extend my sincerest thanks to all of our family and friends who have continued to include our family in your prayers. We are so lucky to have so many great people who love us. Until next time!

What a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I've been quite busy over the last several weeks and wish I had posted sooner. Gilly and I had such a great Christmas. It is so fun to share the excitement with a child, I never really understood that until now. The truth is that Rylynn did play with tissue paper and love the lights, but she was really just happy to spend so much time with her aunts, cousins and grandparents. They sure were good to her too! She is looking pretty sassy these days in her designer shoes, tu-tu and soon to be in her new front-facing car seat!

Look at our crazy girl!

Christmas morning with mommy. Ry loves the blocks that Santa brought her!

Her new Pumas taste great!

Playing with her new toys in the chair that Mimi made her.
Ry just wanted to eat the flower on her new hairband!
Even though we are back to the daily grind, life is as crazy as ever. Rylynn has FINALLY started rolling and now she's out of control wild! She rolls non-stop and is already in the crawling position. She is extremely mobile and can find a way to reach just about anything, and I know it won't be long before she's officially crawling.
This last week Gilly and I also began work on our house. We have a few projects, some pretty ambitious and some smaller projects that we're excited to get completed. I will eventually have some pictures to post, but we've still got a ways to go before we get to the "after" pics.
Hope you all have a great start to 2010!

7 months old and so much to be thankful for!

It's crazy to think that Ry is now 7 months old! This time last year I was buying my first pair of stretchy pants! She has been up to so much lately. She loves to sit up and play, laying down is for babies and she no longer likes it! She's eating all kinds of baby foods, squash is her favorite and peas will nearly make her throw up, she knows what she likes and what she doesn't. Her new best buds are Hondo and Tobi, she just chatters and swings her arms around when she sees them. She just can't get enough of her puppy and kitty. We're sad that the weather is turning colder because we'll miss our afternoon walks. She LOVES to be outside!

We had an exciting holiday weekend. We spent our time with family and lots of Aggie friends. Rylynn is really starting to enjoy playing with her cousins as well. Right now there is just a lot of grabbing and talking, but it won't be long till she's chasing after them all.
We spent Thursday and Friday in College Station with the Martinka's and the Riojas' eating lots of turkey and watching our Aggies.

Rylynn enjoyed the tailgating, but it wore her out!

Friday we went and took a few pictures around campus, she was in such a good mood! I think I will do all of her pictures outside from now on.

Saturday was Rylynn's big day! Although she was baptized when she was only minutes old, Saturday we were able to have a baptismal ceremony for her with our families. It was such a nice feeling to formally present her to God. She was great through the whole ceremony and was mostly just interested in taking the Priest's paper out of his hand the whole time. Here are a couple of pics from the day.

Rylynn with her two Godmothers. I know they will be a great inspiration for her Christian faith.

This weekend Gilly and I are looking forward to celebrating our 5 wedding anniversary! It will be so much more special because this year we will get to celebrate as a family. We also can't wait to get our Christmas tree up and the house ready for the Christmas season!

Halloween Fun!

We spent Rylynn's first Halloween in College Station. On Friday night we were able to do some trick or treating among fellow Aggie tailgaters. It was a lot of fun and we were joined by ALL of Rylynn's cousins! She only lasted in her outfit long enough to make it to a couple of RVs and then we had to call the sunflower quits while we walked around.
Rylynn was not interested in pictures, she was ready to get the Trick or Treating started!
Look Rylynn, Jackson kept his costume on... let's try that next time!

This little yell leader was showing true Aggie spirit!

A visit to the Pumpkin Patch!

What an exciting week! We've spent the week here in Lampasas and are feeling right at home. I don't have much time to write about the fun we've had, but it's been great! I wanted to include a few pics though.

She loves her cereal!

It's hard to catch her smiling with all those fingers in her mouth!

Look at my big girl, she's sitting up all by herself!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Sorry it's taken so long...

Sorry it's taken so long to get a new post up here, but you know what they say "no news, is good news".
Two weeks after Rylynn's Glenn procedure and she continues to amaze us. We were released from the hospital on Monday the 28th, just 4 days after her surgery! We stuck around town until Sunday and then headed back here to Austin. Today was our follow up with the Cardiologist here and things looked great! The echo revealed no fluid in her chest and great heart function. And her sats were holding steady between 85 and 87... woo hoo!
Rylynn weighed in at 14lbs 8 1/2 oz. And now that she seems to have returned to her pre surgery eating habits, we are going to start cereal. We can't wait!
Dr. Rowe says to enjoy getting moved to Lampasas and that he doesn't need to see us back for THREE MONTHS!! We are so excited! Of course, because it's stinkin' flu season, we have to come back once a month for an RSV shot, but we can handle that.
Thank you to everyone for the thoughtful emails, phone calls and texts, we know that Rylynn is so loved by our friends and family. It makes us feel like really lucky parents.
I look forward to posting fun new pics soon so stay tuned!
